Abiding by the up-to-date workplace safety standards is a prerequisite for the company. In May 2012, the Supervisory Board of PJSC Donbasenergo decided to implement an occupational health and safety management system consistent with the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

By Order of 26 June 2012, PJSC Donbasenergo created the Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety and reorganized the respective subdivisions within the structural units.

During 2013-2014, the activities to arrange an up-to-date occupational health management system were completed, the first Occupational Health and Safety Policy was developed, occupational health and safety committees were appointed in the Company and in all structural units. Steps are under way to uphold and improve the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) through a process-based risk-based thinking approach. A course will be taken to integrate the management systems now implemented: occupational health and safety, environmental management and quality management.

In 2020, the Company switched to a health and safety management system compliant with the international standard ISO 45001:2018. OHMS Management System applies to all structural units, except for Energosotsinvest and Energotorg.

In parallel, the company passed supervisory audits of the quality management system for compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 international standard and the environmental management system for compliance with the ISO 14001:2015 international standard.
