PJSC Donbasenergo has proven itself again that it is one of Ukraine’s leaders in the adoption of ecotechnologies, ecoinnovations and ecostartups. On November 20, 2020 the company was awarded an ecooscar; using this merit badge, ECOtransformation-2020 awards the green change fostering stakeholders.

Donbasenergo's management holds it strongly that investing in and deploying big business environmental solutions is the only true way towards achieving global sustainable development goals, not just minimizing adverse environmental effects locally.

The award for the ash and slag waste disposal and reuse project at Sloviansk TPP was given to the employees of Donbasenergospetsremont: Svitlana Yesionova, Engineer-in-Chief, and Kateryna Koshara, Engineer of Production Technology Department.

In her interview with the media, S. Yesionova underscored the importance of investing today in avoiding the harmful environmental effects, not just and not so much in remedial actions in response to the pollution occurred. This guides Donbasenergo in the Sloviansk TPP’s comprehensive ecomodernization program it brings to reality. So, the company is willing to share its first-hand practice on that issue.

“Use of ash and slag wastes as secondary raw materials is a key item on the power engineering agenda of these recent years. With this approach, the amount of coal combustion waste build-up will go down and, consequently, its harmful environmental effects will likewise decrease,” says the Engineer-in-Chief of Donbasenergospetsremont.

Being recognized by ECOtransformation 2020 is meant to support business community leaders who mold true national values like the respect for their homeland, care for preserving its wealth and welfare notwithstanding the economic troubles that they have to get over.
