Sloviansk TPP's startup goes live on April 9

Donbasenergo announces that on April 9, 2021, startup and commissioning works at Sloviansk TPP, i.e. the final stage of the comprehensive overhaul of TPP's Power Unit 7, are to begin.

Over the next week, a comprehensive inspection of all elements of electrical equipment will be performed during the preparatory phase, and preparations continue for test runs, operational mode and end-to-end testing.

As we informed earlier, the reason why the vibration of the turbine of Power Unit 7 at Sloviansk TPP increased on January 17, 2021 was the breakage of a fragment of the blade lock packet of working blades No. 11 of the high pressure cylinder caused by erosion and abrasive wear of the blades in the area where they intersect with the bandage flange, since this area has a voltage concentrator.

During the time of repair at Power Unit 7, the turbine's high-pressure cylinder was uncovered, the cylinder was repaired, the high-pressure rotor was replaced with a standby rotor, the nozzle apparatus and diaphragms Nos. 2-8 were replaced based on fault detection of cylinder components.

In addition, low-pressure cylinders (LPC) were opened, units and parts of the flow part of LPC Nos. 1, 2, 3 were repaired, including diaphragms, diaphragm guide blades, working blades and shrouds of all grades of low-pressure rotors Nos. 1, 2, 3, and their blade unit was sandblasted to clean it. One of two defective (damaged next to each other) and torn working blades of the 43rd degree of the RND-2 was replaced.

Donbasenergo managed to maintain heating in Mykolaivka even after the emergency shutdown of Power Unit 7 of Sloviansk TPP: the first-stage coal-gas-fired boilers were put into operation, which caused the company to incur more losses.

For reference: As of April 01, 2021, 60.86% holder of PJSC Donbasenergo is ENERGOINVEST HOLDING Private Joint Stock Company, 25% + 1 share are held by the state represented by the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

PJSC Donbasenergo unites two power plants: Sloviansk and Starobeshevo TPP (the latter has been located in the territory beyond the control of Ukraine since 2014). Since March 2017, due to the loss of control over the temporarily occupied Donetsk Region, annual performance indicators of assets located there are not included in Donbasenergo consolidated records of accounts.

The total installed capacity of Sloviansk TPP is 880 MW.
