Bearing in mind the need for Ukraine to implement the National Plan to reduce emissions from large combustion plants, plus the difficulty for thermal general companies to keep about 12 GW of necessary capacity at thermal power plants in operation to cover peak and half-peak loads for a balanced power system, Ukraine now needs to look at constructing 5 to 6 new environmentally friendly coal-fired power units.

Donbasenergo reports that Power Unit 7 of Sloviansk TPP was connected to the unified energy system of Ukraine on April 15, 2021 at 10:23 am.

Donbasenergo reports that the reason why the vibration of the turbine of Power Unit 7 at Sloviansk TPP increased on January 17 this year was the breakage of a fragment of the blade lock packet of working blades No. 11 of the high pressure cylinder (HPC) caused by erosion and abrasive wear of the blades in the area where they intersect with the bandage flange, since this area has a voltage concentrator.

In 2020, PJSC Donbasenergo's expenses for occupational safety, fire safety and civil protection totaled UAH 50,238.6 thousand (vs UAH 17,245.8 thousand in 2019), including UAH 44,226.9 thousand for occupational safety, which is 6.1% of the payroll in 2019.

PJSC Donbasenergo abandoned the contracted supplies of domestic gas coal (grade G) in favor of the state-owned energy company Centrenergo due to the repairs in Power Unit 7 of Sloviansk TPP lasting about 65 days.

The Board of PJSC Donbasenergo notifies you that the main equipment failure occurred at Power Unit 7 of Sloviansk TPP on January 17, 2021.
